The 'discovery tour'
Discover the château de Rambouillet at your own pace as you wander freely through the building (approximately 1 hour). The tour continues with a visit to the Laiterie de la Reine and the Chaumière aux coquillages. Located in one of the entrance pavilions of the Laiterie, a freely accessible information centre provides you with the key to understanding the site.

The Laiterie de la Reine and the château are 12 km apart. Total visiting time: approximately 2 hours. There is a shop at the château. We recommend checking the opening times of the various monuments in the ‘Practical Information’ tab.
The ‘Grand Tour’, including a look at the guest rooms
Explore the château de Rambouillet at your own pace as you wander freely through the building. Immerse yourself in the lives of the presidents and their distinguished guests at Rambouillet by popping into some of the guest rooms, which have recently been refurbished in a 1940s style. Tours of the guest rooms are conducted in small, guided groups.

Duration of your visit: approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. There are several tours of the guest rooms throughout the day. Booking is essential via the château’s website.
Guided tour
During a 45 minutes tour, you will visit the main flats and guest rooms of the Château de Rambouillet, a unique example of a residence that was in turn royal, imperial and presidential.

Tours depart at 10.30 am and 2.00 pm on weekdays, and at 10.30 am only at weekends, during school holidays and on public holidays. Does not include a tour of the guest rooms. Price: no extra charge on top of your ticket price. Subject to staff availability (no advance bookings; sign up on the day).

The lecture tour
Accompanied by a guide, you will discover the secrets of the château's history and go behind the scenes of the private areas reserved for the presidency, tackling themes as rich as they are unusual.

Discover the park in a different way
Did you know? Rambouillet is also a 150-hectare park. From April to November, take a bucolic stroll in a boat, a rosalie, a bicycle or an electric buggy.
