Areas open to unguided visitors:
- 18th century state apartment – exhibition space
- Presidential dining room featuring table as laid out during the G6 summit in 1975

Every day, except Tuesdays, 1 January, 1 May, 1 and 11 November and 25 December (grounds open).
From 9.50 am to 12 pm and 1.50 pm to 5 pm (6 pm in high season)

> Guided tour of the Queen’s Dairy and Shell Cottage (lasts 45 min.) 

Tour with commentary from a site guide.

This new and original tour provides a visit of spaces not usually open to the public and/or a theatre, music or other sensory event.

President Félix Faure is on his way! Louise Vatel, a maid at the estate, is busy getting the Château de Rambouillet in order. Listen to what she has to say! Because the stories get handed down from generation to generation among the people in service! From April to July, every weekend and public holidays from 10.30 am to 7 pm.
July and August, every weekday from 1 pm to 7 pm, weekends and public holidays from 10.30 am to 7 pm.
In October, weekends from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm.

Themed tours 2016:

- "Laiterie du bon goût" / "Dairy of good taste": Manifesto of the Enlightenment this dairy of "good taste" allows us to get a glimpse of the splendour of an era, where gourmandise was expressed in a hushed and delicate atmosphere. On the programme: a country walk with the queen, architectural discoveries and tasting.
- "A French-style garden: a lush green setting": From the Renaissance to the present, the garden known as "French-style" reveals all its secrets.
