A chateau, a presidential residence set in a remarkable garden..
Over the years the 14th century castle has housed famous people, who gradually transformed it into a delightful home acquired by Louis XVI. The royal estate is now a presidential estate that periodically hosts foreign heads of state visiting France. It has some very beautiful examples of interior decoration, such as in the marble room, rococo decor of the Marie-Antoinette apartments or Napoleon's neo-Pompeian style apartments. It is set in formal garden with canals and six islands. The site is listed as an Outstanding Garden.
